Florida Supreme Court and OSCA

Oral arguments scheduled before the Florida Supreme Court on October 3 will be rescheduled for November.

Missed a legal deadline due to a storm? Orders are issued by the Chief Justice retroactively extending deadlines in affected areas. Attorneys and others who missed legal deadlines or hearing dates will be protected by these orders, which will be issued once the courts in these areas reopen. They will be posted as they are issued on our Administrative Orders page.

OTHER INFORMATION

Orders Extending Court Deadlines

Orders extending legal deadlines due to the emergency are on our website under Administrative Orders. The Florida Supreme Court issues retroactive orders extending deadlines on a county-by-county basis for periods of time when state courts are closed due to a storm or other emergency. There is no need to file motions for extension of times solely because a Florida court is closed because of a storm.
